Our Story

FOUNDED BY A FEMALE PLANT MEDICINE SPECIALIST

Meet the visionary behind Jean Genie — a testament to passion, resilience, and the power of natural health. In her early 30s, founder Jean Creasey faced a health crisis with acne and hormone imbalances. Conventional solutions fell short, so she turned her lifelong interest in natural health into a quest for personal healing. Despite trying the most expensive designer ranges, nothing delivered the soft, smooth skin she wanted. That struggle sparked a passion for crafting skincare that truly helps.

Jean began at 19, making potions and lotions for friends and family. In her 40s she gifted colleagues handmade body scrubs—the enthusiastic response grew into a full product line. Her husband, Stephen, saw the potential and studied formulation science. Jean left her 9-to-5 and formally trained as a herbal medicine practitioner, then studied acupuncture, Reiki, and hypnotherapy. Their journey is rooted in dedication, learning, and a commitment to natural solutions that support skin health and overall well-being.

At Jean Genie, our mission is to revolutionize the way you care for your skin and nourish your body — without adding toxins. Everyone is unique, so we craft natural skincare, body care, and health products for sensitive, oily/acne-prone, and aging skin, as well as overall wellness—pairing botanicals with scientifically backed actives.

Our planet-first approach includes packaging. Local clients can return empty glass jars for a R5 refund. These jars, plus our eco-friendly boxes and bags, are designed to be biodegradable to minimize our footprint.

Our local clients participate in our recycling initiative and receive R5 back for every returned glass bottle. We’ve saved thousands of bottles from landfill. Our gift and courier boxes are eco-friendly with paper stuffing and natural string. Our products are mainly in glass with no excess, unnecessary packaging.

CRUELTY-FREE INGREDIENTS

We only use ingredients that have not been tested on animals. We are working toward Leaping Bunny Certification.
